The effects of this trait will eventually get better and better as you play through the game. Only worth taking if you have slow modded vehicles. There really isnt a best build for the game. I don't understand why people like it. Slow reader: 3/5. Could be worth taking in conjunction with the negative perk "Prone to Illness" as it gives you 2 free points, which is why I didn't rate this lower. First aid is not. But if you are looking for positive traits, you can find a link to a guide for the best positive traits below. The only reason it isn't more highly ranked is after a few months you get less and less panic from zombies anyway. I'd love to hope in Discord and go over some mechanics of the game in debug mode while streaming if anyone is curious! But let me convince you why pacifist is a good choice. This is a real challenge to start with and a pain in the ass to raise your fitness. Ideally paired with fire officer so you can pick underweight and still keep athletic. The combo costs 2 points net for 1 str, 1 axe and 1 sprinting. This is honestly a very great perk worth considering, especially for only 4 points. And when You have 9 fitness it's not going to cause any problems, so probably even 4/5 if you have 9 fitness. This increases how far you can "see" behind your character and is enough of a buff that you can fast-forward and still react to zombies that attack from behind. Although the description of the negative trait says it decreases theplayer's vision, It appears not to affect the character in any noticeable way. Underweight has a similar penalty, it makes your attacks deal less damage. For this reason I usually take the Repairman profession combined with handy to get a solid xp boost to maintenance. Reduces container capacity by 30%, including vehicles. The XP boosts will be massively helpful too. Slow Healer (doesn't really matter; also don't get hurt), High Thirst (water is trivial unless you have month-long drought), Underweight (just gorge yourself on perishable food before the power goes out), Smoker (this is a positive trait disguised as a negative one), Prone to Illness (free points; just don't sit out in the rain naked for hours), Hearty Appetite (food isn't much of a problem and you need to eat enough calories to maintain a healthy weight anyway), Conspicuous (it makes you more likely to be spotted, but zombies are doing lots of spot checks anyway so it doesn't matter much), Weak Stomach (you shouldn't be eating bad food regardless, so this is free points), Short Sighted (it's broken and only decreases your foraging radius), Cowardly (unless you're going up against giant hordes panic isn't really an issue, and Beta Blockers are plentiful), Slow Reader (it's annoying but not bad, you just spend more time fast-forwarding in your base). Foraging will keep you well fed thru summer and trapping will keep you fed thru winter. The mechanics are complicated but a few levels in nimble/lightfooted largely nullify clumsy, and being in stealth gives zombies a chance to ignore your footstep sounds on top of that. Take fast learner instead. Horrible for new players, but experienced players shouldnt be getting scratched often, if at all.
Project Zomboid: The Best Traits, Ranked - Game Rant I also asked them to read the rest of your guide. Just watch life and living and read books for the first week to level cooking. Generally the characters of mine that survive the longest are the ones that almost never get into any contact with zombies at all. You'll never get cold in this game (on default climate settings) with all the access to clothing layers, and how unpowered buildings magically heat for huge amounts. Will have its effects lessened over a few months, though. So, here is the list of all Positive Traits in Project Zomboid ranked from best to worst: Fast Learner . Feeble, weak - by training strength. Reading skill books is often a useful way to pass time and alleviate boredom during times when you don't want to go outdoors- in rain, fog or darkness for example. The only opinion I disagree with is thin-skinned. As long as you arent fighting zombies in melee combat non-stop theres no reason that should need first-aid. One of them is asthmatic, which I don't think should be too much of an issue if I'm going for a stealth build. Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts. Unhappiness rises when tobacco is not smoked. Allows you to keep a regular schedule, stay out of the dark, and excercise/forage/run/fight more before getting sleepy. This means driving through bushes, towing vehicles, and having to life-or-death plow through zombies, will fail horribly. Solid option for people wanting to live off the grid. 1. Pacifist. I'll start with the ones I've been able to determine: Feeble Obese Out of Shape Overweight Poor eyesight .
